This new business marks a return to UK ceramics adhesive market for Norcros plc.

Having been the market leader in this field for over 30 years, Norcros divested itself of its UK adhesives interests in 2001 to concentrate investment on modernising tile production.

It subsequently returned to the market in August 2005 as Norcros Adhesives. It follows the proven strategic alignment of adhesive and tiles successfully adopted by Group companies in South Africa and Greece.

Norcros Adhesives is a UK manufacturer and supplier of adhesives, grouts, surface preparation and aftercare products for fixing ceramic and porcelain tiles, mosaics, natural stone and marble. Also based in Stoke-on-Trent, the Company serves the UK market and exports to Ireland, the USA and the Middle East.

The Company operates under two main brands, Norcros and Johnson Professional, and also produces a number of own label products for key customers.

All Johnson Tiles contract specifications include Johnson brand adhesives and the activities of the respective sales teams are integrated in order to maximise market opportunities. The popularity of the combined specification with architects has led to significant early success, particularly in export markets.
