Norcros SA consists of three complementary businesses - JTSA, tile manufacturer, TAL, tile adhesive manufacturer, and TAF, tile retailer.

JTSA was founded in Johannesburg in 1955. TAL was set up in 1968 by way of a joint venture between Norcros and BTR plc. In 1996 Norcros became sole owner of TAL. In December 2004, it acquired its main distributor, Tile Africa, which it renamed TAF, to create a fully integrated business model.

TAF operates primarily in the mid to upper, design-led market and has 28 showrooms across South Africa and one in Namibia. The freeholds of 14, and long leaseholds of two retail sites are now owned by the Company. There are also five franchisees operating in South Africa and one in Mozambique.

The focus of the stores is on ceramic floor tiles, which account for 80% of sales. Other related products include adhesives and tools as well as sanitaryware and bathroom accessories.
